Monomat is a highly individualized 3D printed sleeping furniture made of elastic plastic.
A scan process captures the individual pressure points in different sleep positions depending on the weight and stature of each person. Based on this, a software is used to create and print a structure that gradually changes in three dimensions, and thus hardness profiles for optimal support of the back.
The thermoplastic monomaterial can be remelted at the end of the service cycle and be reused.
The open structure ensures a constant ventilation. The function of a slatted frame is already integrated and also the static function of a bed frame can be taken into account in the structure generation. The common idea of a bed, consisting of mattress, slatted frame and bed frame, is broken up. The result is a new typology, a solitary bed furniture.
