A performance with Valentin BuflerInspired by the lives and art of Hilma af Klint and Mike KelleyAnd dedicated to actually being with what is
A friend once said to me: „They were playing music on the street and everybody was standing there filming, looking through his phone. The next day in social media you have all these photos and videos saying ‚Look where i have been!‘. But actually they have not been there.“
Two men walk through a symetric room with a table and a spotlight on each side. There are glowing objects on the ground. Each of them picks some objects, takes them to his table andstarts to arrange them.
They neither interact, nor seem to see each other. Even though they are in the same room, not seperated by anything but by the imaginary line between them which is the mirror axis of both of their worlds. They try to shape the shadows of their arrangements on the wall. To let them grow towards each other. They want to get in touch on that surface. Not in reality, only through that picture of the things they chose to present in a certain light.
